Mt Eliza Cricket Club

We are excited to announce our club leadership for next season and welcome our new recruits to the club. We are looking to build on last season adding some experience to our home grown list of players. The senior cricket group have been working hard during the past couple of month looking for the right people to bring to the club.

The Club Leadership Group is as follows:

Congratulations to Tim Clarke who for the 2nd season has been appointed Senior Coach. Tim did a tremendous job in his first season and will only grow and develop with the experience. We look forward to what he has in store for us for season 2019/20 and he will be in touch soon with upcoming preseason training dates.

Tom has been appointed Head Junior Coach for season 2019/20. He is former Mt Eliza junior cricketer and junior coach previously coaching Under 10s & Under 16s. Tom is a very talented cricketer who has played lots of rep cricket and even representing Victoria in the junior ranks.

He also has a lot of coaching experience, he is currently a level 2 coach and will be studying to become a level 3 coach this year. Tom coach the Victorian Intellectual Disability Senior Team this year winning the premiership in the National Cricket Inclusion Championships which is a fantastic effort. He also coached the South East Country Sharks Under 14 rep team this season so Tom comes with great experience.

Tom brings with him a wealth of knowledge and will be working with our junior players and coaches to help develop the future of our club.

Not only is Tom a talented cricketer he is one of the most giving people and we are privileged to have him on board for next season.

We are also privileged to lock Justin in as First XI Captain for 2019/20. He returns for his 4th season at the helm looking to take our group to the very top. Justin is one of the most talented cricketers on the Peninsula. He is always up in the top 10 across the league and it proved so winning the club batting and bowling averages in our 1sts last year. Juzzy is looking forward to leading our group in 2019/20.

We welcome the following recruits to Mt Eliza for 2019/20. We look forward to officially welcoming them with a meet and greet at our Presentation Night Ball on April 27th.

Welcome back to former junior cricketer Tommy Baron. Tom left the Mt.Eliza CC to test himself at a higher level playing premier cricket for Frankston Peninsula and then called Rye home.

It's great to have Tom back at the club, not only do we welcome him but we welcome his family, Natalie, Charli and Indi.

Recruit #2

We would like to welcome Matt Whelan to Mt Eliza for the upcoming season.

Wheels is a top order bat who has had a stellar career for Tootgarook mainly and has decided its time to test himself against the best in the provincial ranks.

He will be a massive asset for us strengthening the batting and can even roll the arm over if need, much to his demise.

Recruit #3

We would like to introduce Rashmika Opatha to the Mt.Eliza Cricket Club.

Rasmika is a hard-hitting opening batsman with some pretty incredible stats and experience.

Rashmika is currently living in Australia in Glen Waverley and in his second year of a software engineer degree at Deakin University.

Congratulations to our Leaders and welcome to our new recruits for next season, It’s a very exciting time and we cannot wait to get stuck into the pre season. Remember you can get to know the recruits as they will be at the Presentation ball on Saturday 27th April at the Mt Eliza Bowls Club. Tickets need to be pre purchased at www.mtelizacricketclub.com.au/shop
