OUR COMMITMENT TO CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE
Mt Eliza Cricket Club seeks to:
1. Provide a safe and supportive physical and online environment for all Children and Young People, including by:
a. Establishing culturally safe environments in which the diverse and unique identities and experiences of Aboriginal children and young people are respected and valued;
and
b. Paying particular attention to the needs of vulnerable children, children with disability, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex children and young people.
2. Ensure that the experiences of Children and Young People are free from any form of Prohibited Conduct including Child Abuse or Grooming;
3. Empower Children and Young People to act and respond to behaviour that is not acceptable or inappropriate.
We do annually this by:
4. Appointing a Child Safety Officer or Member Protection Information Officer to lead implementation.
5. Endorsing and annually re-endorsing the Australian Cricket child safeguarding policy, commitment statement code of behaviour.
6. Striving to ensure that all members understand and are aware the of Australian Cricket policies and codes of behaviour relating to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
7. Screening and inducting members in accordance with the policy.
8. Reporting any instances or allegations of prohibited conduct in accordance with the process set out in the policy.
