The Mt Eliza Cricket Club relies on a large number of volunteers to participate in the planning and execution of it’s junior cricket programs each season. The club is currently seeking expressions of interest from junior parents, senior players and members of the community that would like to offer some of their time to help out next season. Please see below a summary of the different types of roles that need to be filled:
Purpose
The purpose of the Junior Cricket Coordinator position is to design and manage the effective delivery and implementation of the club’s junior cricket programme.
Objective
The objective of the role is to grow participation in, and awareness of, cricket in the Mt Eliza Village area and to reinforce cricket as the number one summer sport for all current and potential junior boys and girls in our area at our family club. The position offers the successful candidate a very real opportunity to continue evolving and driving the current junior cricket program, ensuring its continued profile and objectives are successfully delivered and enhanced.
Purpose
The purpose of the Assistant Junior Cricket Coordinator position is to oversee all aspects of administration and compliance within the junior program.
Objective
The objective of the role is to ensure that all team managers and child safety officers are aware of all requirements and protocols, and that these are carried out.

Team Managers play a key role in bringing together a group of young players and their families into an effective and happily functioning team.
Objective
The role of Team Manager in junior cricket is an important and valuable one. It is equally important and valuable to have other people doing some of the tasks/activities, which makes it more enjoyable and helps everything to happen smoothly. You are almost certainly the team co-ordinator, not the only person doing things! You will be the link person between your team and the opposition, and the link between your players and having them turn up for the match!
Purpose
The team coach is to implement the MECC junior cricket program whilst promoting physical fitness and healthy lifestyles. Teaching players about safety, teamwork and making sure all players feel included and involved. A Coach is a director of people who are striving for a goal. He or she must not drive them relentlessly, but instead guide them towards the goal. The Coach should be available to train the children in all aspects of the game and be present during the game.
Objective
The Coach coordinates the team and liaises with parents and the Team Manager to advise training schedules. The Coach runs the team. He or she is responsible for the preparation and control of the players during the matches. However, from under 14s upwards, a captain should be appointed to run the team when fielding. The batting and bowling orders remain the coach’s responsibility.

The purpose of the social media & communications role is to ensure important information is efficiently shared between coaches, administrators, players and parents.

The objective of the role is to ensure everyone within the junior ranks is well informed of important club activities and events.

The purpose of the equipment manager is to ensure there is adequate equipment available for all teams and a system in place to manage replacements and minimise loss.

Purpose
The Woolworth Blast Coordinators manage the program from start to finish, with the core purpose to introduce children to cricket and develop very basic skills.

Coordinate the fun, fast paced program that helps kids develop new skills and learn to play Australia’s favourite sport. With two distinct levels, Woolworths Cricket Blast caters for all skill levels and abilities.
Junior Blasters is the first step on the Australian Junior Cricket Pathway. Developed based on research and community feedback it’s the fun way for kids to grow through game-based activities.
Master Blasters is the second step on the Australian Junior Cricket Pathway. It’s perfect for kids who can bowl over 14 metres! Master Blasters develop game sense and further their skills through fun, social games of cricket.
